An Economic Shopping Guide For Summer Clothes

Every season is exciting, if only because it’s an excuse to buy more clothes. This year is no different, but the clothes sure are different. Today I went shopping for some summer clothes and I was surprised by the number of dresses for sale.

For a long period of time, women were, for the most part, shunning dresses and instead wearing different styles of summer pants. Now more and more women are realizing the value of a dress for summer clothing.

Dresses are comfortable, stylish and very feminine. While you may fumble and spend time trying to match a blouse with a skirt or pants, you can, instead, slip on a dress and you’re ready to go. Additionally, many dresses can be accessorized differently to be worn day or night. A dress is perfect for an office, a day out shopping, or a date at a local restaurant. As a part of your summer clothes shopping, pick up a versatile dress in beige,or grey, colors which wear well in both summer or winter.

Other summer clothing staples include lightweight jeans, capri pants, a swimsuit, shorts, t-shirts, flip flops and sandals.

A pair of lightweight jeans will last for many summers. While tight jeans are in fashion, currently, they may not be next season. If you’re shopping on a budget, an investment is better made into a pair of comfortable Levis with a regular fit. Avoid trendy ripped styles and colored jeans, unless you’ve included the cost in your budget.

Capri pants are one fashion trend that survives every year. A pair of pastel yellow or tan capris can be worn in spring and fall as well. Avoid darker colors, which are great in cooler weather, but uncomfortable in warmer weather. White, while perfect for summer, stains easily and is also not appropriate for late fall, even when the weather is uncharacteristically warm.

Shopping for a swimsuit can be a painful experience. There are a few guidelines for women who may have features they want to play down. Bigger busted women will want to avoid loud colors on the top part of the swimsuit. If you’re uncomfortable with your hips, you can find terrific suits with little skirts. Men have an easier time with swimsuits, however it is important to avoid swimwear which is too large. One feature that men and women share is being able to use board shorts as regular shorts or a swimsuit.

T-shirts are a mainstay of every summer wardrobe. Because of their low cost, owing several t-shirts is a great way to economize for summer clothing shopping.

Lastly, every closet will need to have a pair of casual and dressy sandals as well as flip flops for the beach.

For ladies clothes or men’s clothes, a summer shopping experience is less painful when the budget is decided before you set out.
